With summer fast approaching, there are a number of upcoming athletic events which may be of interest to both adult and juvenile club members. Bear in mind that the athletics track in John O'Sullivan Park, Lees Road, is closed for maintenance from April for a number of months, so some events which normally take place there have switched to alternative venues.

Clare Athletics
The Clare Athletics County Championships take place at Craughwell AC Track (Co. Galway) on Saturday 2nd May. Closing date for entries 25th April. Entries should be made via Athletics Ireland Entry for Sports site.

Community Games
The Clare Community Games county finals take place over two days. To qualify for this, athletes must compete and qualify in their local area/parish athletics event. For more information, see the Clare Community Games website.
Day 1: Thursday 28th May, Shannon AC & St Senan's RFC: Hurdle events, discus, shot putt, javelin, high jump and long puck events.
Day 2: Sunday 31st May, University of Limerick: Sprints, longer runs, long jump and ball throw events.
