Welcome to the Shannon Athletic Club website

Shannon Athletic Club is based in the town of Shannon in County Clare, Ireland. It draws its members from all neighbouring parishes surrounding Shannon including Newmarket-on-Fergus, Sixmilebridge and Cratloe. We cater for young athletes from age 7 upwards. Shannon AC train at the old All Weather Pitch in Shannon which is adjacent to the St Senans Rugby Club. New members are always welcome!

Club Project

The Club has secured grounds for the future, circa 8 acres, and we are currently formulating plans to develop this into an all weather pitch complex and a full 400m synthetic running track. With help from Clare County Council, we have recently erected fencing around the site. The Club would like to thank Shannon Town Council for their support, and in particular Cllr Gerry Flynn, who's passion for Athletics has helped strengthen our club! Over the next few years we are hoping to develop these facilities on the property to help improve the facilities available to the people of Shannon and the surrounding areas.

Shannon AC would like to acknowledge the very kind support from St Patricks Comprehensive School, the Principal and Caretaking Staff, who provide us with use of their Sports Hall during our winter training season.

This is very much appreciated!
