Congratulations to all our athletes who competed in Clare AAI Indoor Championships in Nenagh on Sunday. Especially well done to our medal winners Ronan Walsh, Colin Curran, Orla Fitzgerald and Chloe McNamara

Congratulations also to Gearoid & Seamus McMahon who both brought home All-Ireland Indoor medals from Athlone on Sunday. Gearoid took Bronze in the 3k Junior Walk in a new PB while Seamus took Gold in the U23 Weight for Distance and Bronze in the U23 Shot.

Huge Congrats to our Senior athletes who competed in the All Ireland T&F league final. William Flynn, Eamon Cleary and Seamus McMahon helped Clare secure the Silver medal and promotion to Premier division next season.

A very big Well Done to Gearoid McMahon who took Gold in the All Ireland U16 3K walk in a time of 14.23. Gearoid went on to win the All Ireland schools, Tailteann Games and finished with Bronze at the SIAB International Schools championships in Scotland.. Well Done all..

Congratulations to Colin Curran who won Bronze in the U12 Turbo Javelin and to Diarmuid Fitzgerald who took Bronze in the U15 2K walk at the Munster Track & Field Championships 2015.

Congratulations to Blake Curran and Gearoid McMahon who competed in the All Ireland Indoor Championships at the weekend in Athlone. Blake took bronze in the U15 1000m walk in a time of 5:25, while Gearoid took Gold in the U16 1500m walk. Gearoid added to his National record of last year beating 3 times Olympian Jamie Costin's record which stood since 1992.

Congratulations to Blake Curran, Diarmuid Fitzgerald and Gearoid McMahon from Shannon Athletic Club who competed in the Munster Indoor Championships at the weekend in Nenagh. Blake finished 2'nd and Diarmuid finished 3'rd in the U15 1000m walk while Gearoid finished 1'st in the U16 1500m walk. All three set personal best with Gearoid setting a new Munster Record in the process.

Well Done to Georgia Reidy Bond and Ronan Walsh who competed in the Munster B Cross Country in Cork. Ronan brough home 2 Silver medals, an individual Silver and also Silver with the Clare Team! Phoos available on the Munster B tab.

Gearoid McMahon All-Ireland U15 2,000m Walk Champion 2014...

Well Done to Gearoid McMahon who took Gold in the boys U15 2,000m in a time of 9.49. Congratulations also to Seamus McMahon who took Bronze in the U19 6K Hammer with a throw of 44.11. Well Done also to Blake Curran who competed in the Final of the U14 Javelin finishing with a PB of 27.12m. Blake also competed in the U14 2,000m walk finishing in 6th place in a time of 12.38.

Congratulations to Gearoid McMahon who broke the Munster U15 2,000m walk Record in the Munster T&F Championships 2014. Gearoid's time was 9.49.01 breaking the record by 35 seconds. Also Well Done to Seamus McMahon who brought home 3 Gold's in the U19 Hammer, Discus and Shot Putt... Congratulations to Diarmuid Fitzgerald and Blake Curran who brought home Silver and Bronze in the U14 2000m walk. Well Done also to Chloe McAleer and Elena Hayes-Worland who also competed exceptionaly well, narrowly missing out on bring home medals!

Congratulations to Grainne McMahon who won Gold in the Munster U9 Turbo Javelin. Congratulations also to Colin Curran and Dylan O'Brien who won Bronze in the Munster U11 Pairs Turbo Javelin.

A Huge Well Done to Gearoid McMahon who was selected to represent Munster Schools in the Tailteann Games. This honour was as a result of Gearoids fantastic win in the Junior 2K walk at the All Ireland schools in Tullamore last weekend...

A huge Well Done to all our athletes who took part in the County Track and Field Championships in Lees Road over the weekend. Shannon AC athletes won a total of 43 medals, 19 Gold, 18 Silver and 6 Bronze. See full results and photos on the T&F tabs

CONGRATULATIONS to Gearoid McMahon who set a New National Record in the Boys U15 1000m Walk at the National Indoor Athletic Championships in Athlone on Saturday. Gearoid finished in a time of 4:20:29 beating the previous record which had stood since 2002.

Congratulations also to Blake Curran and Diarmuid Fitzgerald who competed in the Boys U14 1000m walk and had fantastic races finishing 4th & 5th respectively. Shannon O'Grady competed in the Girls U18 1500m walk finishing in 5th place with all three producing PBs on the big day! Pics can be seen on the AIT 2014 Tab.

CONGRATULATIONS to Gearoid McMahon Munster Indoor U15 1000m Race Walk Champion 2014 in a new Record time of 4.52, Diarmuid Fitzgerald 2'nd in the U14 1000m walk, Blake Curran 3'rd in the U14 1000m walk and Shannon O'Grady 2'nd in the Girls U18 1500m walk.

Congratulations to all our athletes who took part in the Munster B Cross Country Championships in Beaufort Co Kerry today...

Especially Well Done to Ronan Walsh, who came 2'nd in the U9 boys and Scott O'Brien who came 4'th, leading the Clare team to the Bronze medal.

Well Done to Chloe McNamara who helped the Clare team to win Bronze in the Girls U9.

Congratulations also to Colin Curran who had a great race in the U11 narrowly missing out on making the Clare Team.

In the U13 Boys Eoin Guilfoyle finished 8'th Leading the Clare Team to the Silver medal with Blake Curran also having a great race narrowly missing out on the Clare team!

Shannon Athletic Club is based in the town of Shannon in County Clare, Ireland.

It draws its members from all neighbouring parishes surrounding Shannon including Newmarket-on-Fergus, Sixmilebridge and Cratloe. We cater for young athletes from age 7 upwards.

Shannon AC train at the old All Weather Pitch in Shannon which is adjacent to the St Senans Rugby Club. New members are always welcome!
